FEBA, Inc. is seeking professional, dependable, and highly motivated Armed Security Officers to provide security services in support of the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) at its headquarters in Washington, DC.
The Armed Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure federal workplace while protecting government employees, visitors, facilities, equipment, and property. This position requires professionalism, sound judgment, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to consistently follow established security procedures, post orders, and government requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a professional armed security presence at assigned posts.
- Protect NTSB personnel, visitors, facilities, equipment, and government property.
- Monitor and control access to designated areas and verify appropriate identification and credentials.
- Remain alert and observant while on duty and immediately report suspicious activity, security concerns, safety hazards, and unusual incidents.
- Conduct assigned patrols and other security-related duties.
- Follow all applicable post orders, government/client security procedures, company policies, and supervisory instructions.
- Properly operate assigned communication, security, and access-control equipment.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies, alarms, security incidents, and other situations in accordance with established procedures.
- Maintain accountability for assigned weapons, equipment, credentials, keys, and other government or company property.
- Prepare clear, accurate, and timely incident reports and other required documentation.
- Maintain required uniform, grooming, equipment, and credential standards.
- Perform additional security duties as required by the contract, post orders, or government direction.

Physical and Eligibility Requirements
Candidates must:
- Meet all government and contract requirements applicable to an Armed Security Officer assigned to the NTSB contract.
- Successfully complete all required background, suitability, access, and security-clearance requirements and medical examinations.
- Maintain all required licenses, permits, certifications, and credentials for the position.
- Meet applicable uniform, grooming, physical, and appearance requirements.
- Be able to perform the essential duties associated with an armed federal security assignment.
The applicable CBA specifically addresses weapons requalification, government-required physical examinations, First Aid/CPR requirements, and required training and certifications.
Schedule and Employment Information
The workweek runs from Sunday through Saturday. Employee schedules are generally established at least two weeks in advance, except when circumstances beyond the employer's control require changes.
Union Position
This position is covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). Newly hired or rehired employees are subject to a 90-calendar-day probationary period, beginning with their first day standing post, in accordance with the CBA.
