Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented FLSD Certification Director to oversee fire safety and building compliance initiatives within the Staten Island Borough Hall Area. This pivotal role involves managing fire prevention programs, ensuring adherence to life safety building codes, and coordinating certification processes for fire safety professionals. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in fire safety systems, system design, construction inspection, and emergency response procedures.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough building code analysis and fire prevention inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate with local authorities on fire apparatus operation requirements and ensure compliance with all fire safety regulations.
• Manage documentation related to alarm system sales, system certifications, and inspection reports to maintain accurate records of all activities.

Requirements

• FLSD F-89 Certification REQUIRED
• Proven experience in supervising fire safety programs or certifications within a municipal or government setting.
• Extensive knowledge of building code compliance, life safety building codes, NFPA standards, and IFC regulations.
• Strong background in system design for fire alarm, sprinkler systems, and other fire suppression technologies.
• Hands-on experience with inspection processes related to fire safety upgrades or new installations.
• Familiarity with security protocols, emergency response procedures, Hazmat handling, and public safety education strategies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for report writing, documentation management, and communication purposes.
