The persons in this position will maintain a safe and secure environment for customers and co-workers by patrolling, monitoring premises, and performing search procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and control the entrance and departure of employees, visitors, contractors, and commercial drivers to maintain a secure and safe facility environment.
• Enforce company policies, security procedures, and site regulations while maintaining professionalism and excellent customer service.
• Conduct routine patrols and security checks to protect company assets and prevent unauthorized access, theft, or safety violations.
• Vehicle and Trailer Inspections: Perform physical inspections of inbound and outbound trailers, including verification of seals, shipping documentation, and cargo integrity. Conduct CTPAT-compliant inspections on all applicable trailers entering and exiting the facility.
• Traffic and Yard Management: Direct truck drivers, delivery personnel, contractors, and visitors to designated areas within the facility while ensuring safe and efficient traffic flow.
• Operate industrial scales to accurately weigh inbound and outbound freight and maintain associated records.
• Utilize computer systems, tablets, and Yard Management Systems (YMS) to document, track, and process trailer movements and other operational activities.
• Maintain accurate logs, reports, and records related to facility access, inspections, incidents, and vehicle activity.
• Communicate effectively with warehouse personnel, transportation providers, and management to support daily operations and resolve issues.
• Respond appropriately to security incidents, emergencies, and operational disruptions in accordance with company procedures.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Must have one (1) year of experience as a security officer 
• Must have open availability to work all shifts and schedules
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must have good communications skills
• Ability to stand or walk for long periods
• Must be able to walk/run flights of stairs on a daily basis.
• Ability to think clearly during crisis or high-stress periods
• Must be reliable, have a positive attitude, and uphold ethical behavior"
