United Protective Services is currently hiring an experienced Security Officer for a high-visibility retail assignment inside a major grocery store.

This position is ideal for candidates with prior military, corrections, or law enforcement experience who understand the importance of professionalism, customer service, and conflict de-escalation. Officers assigned to this location serve as a visible deterrent to theft, disturbances, and other unwanted activity while maintaining a welcoming and professional presence for customers and store staff.

Schedule

• Saturday: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• Sunday: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• Tuesday: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
• Wednesday: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional, highly visible presence inside the store
• Observe and report suspicious activity, safety concerns, and policy violations
• Assist in reducing theft and other retail-related incidents through proactive observation
• Provide exceptional customer service to customers, employees, and vendors
• Utilize verbal de-escalation techniques to help resolve conflicts and disturbances
• Work closely with store management to address security concerns
• Complete required reports and documentation accurately and professionally
• Respond appropriately to emergencies and unusual situations

Qualifications

• Prior military, corrections, or law enforcement experience required
• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
• Experience with conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
