 Unarmed Security Officer

Location: Akron, OHSchedule: Saturday/Sunday 4:00 PM - MidnightPay Rate: $14.00 per hour

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable and professional Unarmed Security Officer to help maintain a safe and secure environment for clients, employees, and visitors. The ideal candidate will possess strong customer service skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to respond effectively to security-related situations while maintaining professionalism at all times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform security services in accordance with site post orders, company policies, and management directives.
• Conduct walking, vehicle, golf cart, or bicycle patrols as assigned.
• Identify and report security risks, safety hazards, suspicious activity, and emergency situations.
• Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining a visible security presence.
• Perform site-specific duties, which may include:
• • Access control and visitor management
  • Lobby and reception security
  • Loss prevention
  • Retail security
  • Loading dock security
  • Elevator and freight area monitoring
• Complete detailed, accurate, and legible incident reports documenting unusual activities and actions taken.
• Notify supervisors, field management, and other appropriate personnel as required.
• Follow all site-specific policies, procedures, and emergency response protocols.
• Respond to incidents in accordance with company policies and use-of-force guidelines.
• Maintain professional appearance, attendance, and customer service standards.
• Participate in required training and orientation programs.
• Support client requests and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Reliable transportation to and from the work site.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to write clear and concise incident reports.
• Professional demeanor and sound judgment.
• Strong customer service and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred

• 1–3 years of professional work experience.
• Prior security, law enforcement, military, or customer service experience.
• College coursework in security-related fields.
• Experience in security operations, scheduling, or related functions.

Additional Requirements

• Must possess any state-required security licenses, permits, or registrations.
• Must successfully complete background screening and any required drug/alcohol testing.
• Must maintain all required certifications and documentation throughout employment.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record may be required for positions involving vehicle, golf cart, or bicycle patrols.
