Concord Security has a great on-call / casual opportunity for an experienced Security Guard to join our team in Victoria. At this high profile government facility, you will use your social perceptiveness and impeccable customer service skills to de-escalate situations with the general public, and provide a safe and secure environment to the workers and visitors.  

Pay Rate: $18.50/hour during training, increasing to $21.50/hour  

Responsibilities:

• Provide exceptional customer service
• Maintain strong working relationships with clients, tenants and visitors
• Write clear and detailed reports including incident, emergency, liability and day to day reports
• Watch for and report irregularities, such as security breaches, facility and safety hazards, and emergency situations and contact emergency responders as required
• Provide first aid as needed
• Perform regular foot patrols to ensure personnel, building and equipment security
• Utilize two way radios and computer applications to communicate site activates
• Exercise crowd control and evict trespassers
• Assist Event Security staff with duties for special events onsite

Requirements:  

• Minimum of 6-months of work experience in customer service
• Prior work in the security industry is an asset
• Valid BC Security License
• Valid First Aid training is an asset
• Excellent English communication skills
• Physical ability to complete the job duties, including but not limited to standing and walking for the majority of your shift
• Strong working knowledge of de-escalation techniques
• Ability to make immediate decisions, while maintaining composure in emergency response situations with minimal supervision
