Gatehouse Security Officer (Access Control)

Pay: $17.00 per hourSchedule: Full-Time and Part-Time Opportunities AvailableHours: Schedule to be determined based on operational needs. Weekend availability is required.

Position Overview

We are seeking dependable and professional Gatehouse Security Officers to provide access control and security services at a residential or commercial property. This position is responsible for monitoring and controlling all inbound and outbound traffic while maintaining a secure, customer-service-oriented presence.

The Gatehouse Officer serves as the first point of contact for residents, visitors, vendors, and contractors. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to make sound decisions are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Control access at the main entry gate by verifying credentials, visitor authorization, and vendor access
• Maintain accurate logs of all vehicle and pedestrian traffic entering and exiting the property
• Monitor for suspicious activity and report incidents, hazards, or policy violations promptly
• Conduct routine observations of the gatehouse area and surrounding property
• Communicate effectively with property management, residents, supervisors, and other security personnel
• Enforce site policies, procedures, and access control requirements professionally and consistently
• Provide directions and assistance to residents, guests, vendors, and authorized visitors
• Maintain situational awareness and respond appropriately to security concerns and emergencies
• Complete required reports and documentation accurately and on time

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures
• Professional communication and customer service skills
• Ability to remain alert and focused throughout the assigned shift
• Prior security, gatehouse, concierge, or customer service experience preferred
• Reliable transportation and a dependable attendance record are required
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as needed
• Valid Texas Security Officer License (or ability to obtain one) preferred
