Job Summary

The RETAIL SECURITY OFFICER position is a STANDING/WALKING post which requires you to be on your feet while on duty (no chairs or stools). You must be able to work on your feet for extended periods.

This position is a customer-facing retail security assignment. While security experience is important, the most successful candidates will be individuals who are comfortable interacting with customers, maintaining a professional appearance, utilizing technology, standing for extended periods, and responding quickly to security-related events.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet and acknowledge every customer entering and exiting the store
• Respond quickly to door alarms and suspicious activity
• Serve as a visual deterrent to potential shoplifters
• De-escalate tense or hostile situations with professionalism
• Remain alert — no socializing, no use of personal devices
• Complete reports using smartphones, iPads, or store applications

• Able to stand/walk for long periods of time without sitting
• Work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment
• Maintains professional standards — no unnecessary conversation or distractions
• Maintain a professional appearance
• Comfortable handling difficult personalities or situations in a calm manner
• Tech-proficient — familiar with iPhones, iPads, and reporting apps
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Minimum Requirements:

· Valid Florida D Security License

· Must speak and write in English

· Previous experience in loss prevention, bouncer, or retail preferred

· Must be able to work during retail hours (shifts can start/end anywhere between 10am-10pm)
