Job Summary:
Lead Field Supervisor & Trainer is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing daily field operations, supervising security personnel, and delivering training programs across assigned client sites. This individual ensures operational excellence, enforces compliance with company standards, BSIS regulations, and supports employee development through training and coaching. The role combines supervisory field duties with structured training responsibilities to support overall service delivery and workforce readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
Field Supervision
- Provide direct field supervision and guidance to assigned security officers across multiple client sites
- Conduct routine site inspections to ensure post compliance, officer performance, and uniform appearance
- Respond promptly to client concerns, incidents, or operational issues; provide on-site leadership and resolution
- Serve as a liaison between field officers and management, maintaining open lines of communication
- Prepare detailed reports and recommendations based on field audits and inspections
Training & Development
- Delivers in-service training for assigned field supervisors and security officers in compliance with BSIS standards
- Conduct site-specific training based on post orders, emergency protocols, and client requirements
- Provide remedial training and performance coaching as needed to improve officer effectiveness
- Assist with the development and revision of training materials and SOPs in accordance with BSIS regulations
- Maintain accurate training records, certifications, and documentation for compliance audits Operational Support
- Assist with scheduling, staffing adjustments, and shift coverage during emergencies or staffing shortages
- Collaborate with Account Managers, Operations Managers, HR, and Recruiting to support field-level onboarding and candidate assessments
- Participate in investigations, incident follow-up, and disciplinary processes in coordination with HR and Operations teamsQualifications:
- Must possess a valid California Guard Card issued by the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS)
- BSIS Firearms Permit (preferred if required by site duties)
- Completion of BSIS-mandated training: Powers to Arrest and Weapons of Mass Destruction
- Additional BSIS-required continuing education certificates (e.g., Annual Refresher Training)
- Minimum 3–5 years of security industry experience, with 1–2 years in a supervisory or training capacity
- Strong knowledge of California security operations and BSIS compliance standards
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; bilingual a plus
- Ability to develop and deliver engaging training sessions to small and large groups
- Proficient in report writing, incident documentation, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Must have a valid California driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportationWork Environment & Schedule:
- Field-based with frequent travel to client sites across the region
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- On-call availability for emergency response and supportPhysical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods
- May be required to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions (indoor/outdoor)
