Located in our corporate headquarters, we offer the NYS required training course as well BLS, De-Escalation/Defensive Tactics, Site Specific/Cross Training, and Advanced Security Officer BIP. The Security & Fire Alarm Technician supports site security and fire/life-safety systems. This role provides hands-on technical support for installation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation of integrated security and fire alarm systems within a high-reliability semiconductor manufacturing environment. Work is performed in close coordination with EHS, Facilities, IT, Emergency Response Teams (ERT), and the Security Control Center (SCC). Technicians are expected to demonstrate professionalism, respect, and humility while maintaining strict adherence to safety and confidentiality standards.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, test, and troubleshoot physical security systems including access control, intrusion/duress alarms, and video surveillance systems.

• Support fire alarm, fire suppression, and life-safety systems, including diagnostics of alarm, supervisory, and trouble conditions.

• Assist with system commissioning, upgrades, impairments, restorations, and corrective maintenance.

• Provide technical support to SCC operations during alarm events, outages, and emergencies.

• Respond to system faults and perform root-cause troubleshooting and corrective actions.

• Support emergency drills, incident investigations, and after-action reviews.

• Maintain accurate system, testing, and incident documentation in accordance with GlobalFoundries requirements.

• Comply with all security, safety, confidentiality, and access-control policies.

• Communicate effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and site partners.

• Continually display critical thinking and decision making

• Proficient with IT (Information Technology) systems and basic troubleshooting

• Provide outstanding customer service to clients, employees, and visitors

• Demonstrate respect, humility, and professionalism in all interactions

• Perform all other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade education preferred

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience supporting electronic security and/or fire alarm/life-safety systems

• Working knowledge of low-voltage systems, panels, field devices, and cabling

• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills

• Ability to work independently in a safety-critical manufacturing environment

• Must meet background screening and site access requirements

• Eligible to work in the United States

• 18 years of age or older

• Licensed security officer in the state of employment

• Commitment to respect, humility, and continuous learning

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in semiconductor, manufacturing, data center, or other critical-infrastructure environments

• Familiarity with integrated security platforms and alarm monitoring/SCC operations

• Fire alarm or security system certifications (e.g., NICET or manufacturer training)

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to move about the job site for extended periods of time

• Ability to climb, twist, stoop, bend, and reach (overhead, waist, and below waist)

• Ability to run or climb/descend stairs in response to emergencies

• Sufficient strength and flexibility to handle equipment and perform corrective actions
