First Coast Security Solutions provides security services nationwide. We are seeking a Trainer for National Institutes of Health (NIH) located in Maryland. This position will provide initial and refresher training to ensure all required training requirements are met.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and conduct required training programs for new hires and current employees.
  • Monitor, evaluate, or record training activities for program effectiveness.
  • Offer specific training programs to help workers maintain or improve job skills; develop alternative training methods if expected improvements are not seen.
  • Organize and develop, or obtain, training procedure manuals and course materials such as handouts and visual materials.
  • Present information using a variety of instructional techniques or formats such as role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, or lectures.
  • Evaluate training materials prepared by instructors, such as outlines, text, or handouts.
  • Conduct quality assurance inspections to include security screening operations at federal facilities.
  • Provide instruction to new hires and current employees as required to maintain and improve marksmanship skills.
  • Responsible for all aspects of quality control under the contract.
  • Develop an inspection process based on the contract requirements while performing and documenting inspections, analyzing the resulting data, and submitting the data to the Director of Quality Control.

Requirements:

  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and read, write, and speak English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must have a minimum of two (2) years of training and field supervision experience in civilian community law enforcement, military service law enforcement, or commercial/industrial security force service.
  • Certified Firearms Instructor (NRA, POST, FLETC, DOD, or equivalent)
  • Current certifications in First Aid, CPR/AED, Defensive Tactics, Handcuffing, Baton, OC Spray, and Firearms.

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed at federal facilities, training environments, firing ranges, and office settings
  • Position requires standing, and walking, and for extended periods
  • Must be able to lift and carry training equipment and materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Regular use of firearms and screening equipment required.
  • May involve exposure to loud noise levels during firearms training
  • Travel required
