Responsibilities:

• Follows all safety rules. Observes and report any unsafe or hazardous conditions immediately to their manager or proper authority.
• Sort, load/unload, and transport cargo and US Mail;
• Ensure assignments are completed accurately and in a timely manner, following all safety rules and regulations while providing good customer service
• Computer data entry, preparation of flight documents, and acceptance and distribution of cargo in accordance with applicable air carriers
• May be requested to perform other duties as assigned based on Manager’s needs or airline activity.

Qualifications:

• Basic Computer skills
• Must be able to pass 10-year background check for Airport SIDA badge.
• ***Applicants with CURRENT IAD (Dulles Airport) SIDA Badge Preferred***
• Must have at least 1 year of customer service
• Cargo handling and/or screening experience is preferred.
• Uses proper body mechanics while performing duties.
• Able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Lifting requirement of standard 50 lbs.
• Demonstrates ability to work with others and interact appropriately.
• Able to think clearly during crisis or high-stress periods.
• Possess empathetic abilities in dealing with passengers and their needs.
• Maintains communication with other agents and managers. Relates information regarding events or situations that may affect operations

Physical Requirements:This position requires significant physical activity throughout the shift. Officers must be able to:

• Walk and stand for extended periods (including completing multiple rounds and patrols of up to 1–2 miles per shift)
• Frequently climb stairs, ramps, or ladders as required by site patrol routes
• Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Maintain alertness and situational awareness during all patrols
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
