Job Title: Armed Security Officer (Act 235 Certified – Flex/Floater)
Location: Scranton, Wilkes-Barre, Hazleton, and Pottsville, PA
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Schedule: Flexible | On-Call / As Needed (4–8 Hour Shifts)
Availability: Must be available for various days and shifts
Position Overview
We are seeking a flexible Armed Security Officer (Act 235 Certified) to support coverage needs across multiple sites in the Scranton, Wilkes-Barre, Hazleton, and Pottsville areas. This role is ideal for candidates who can adapt to changing schedules and provide reliable, professional security services on short notice.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a visible security presence and deterrence to crime
- Greet visitors and maintain a professional environment
- Patrol assigned areas or staff posts as directed
- Monitor and report suspicious activity or rule violations
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and emergencies (medical, fire, etc.)
- Complete accurate incident and activity reports
Requirements
- Current Act 235 Certification (PA Armed Security)
- Valid License to Carry
- Personal firearm and duty gear
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Reliable transportation (travel between locations required)
- Prior armed security experience
- Strong communication and report-writing skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods (8+ hours)
- Professional appearance and dependable attendance
Preferred Qualifications
- 1–2 years of security experience
- Military or law enforcement background
- High school diploma or GED
Additional Information
- Shifts are as needed (typically 4–8 hours)
- Must be flexible and available for short-notice assignments
- Pre-employment process may include drug screening, background check, and MVR review
