Job Overview

The Regional Security Operations Center (RSOC) Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing shift-level security operations within the GPS control room, providing security response and support across all sites in the respective region. They will use operational best practice to ensure the physical safety and security of our people, buildings and assets on their given shift.

 

The RSOC Shift Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day, shift level delivery of the RSOC’s suite of services.  They will ensure quality, professionalism from a team of RSOC Operators and drive compliance to standards, procedures & performance metrics governing access control system (ACS) alarm response & escalation, security incident reporting, issuance of SAP ID badges and clearances, and professional communication with employees. They will work closely with the RSOC Manager and internal Physical Security stakeholders for real-time response to identified or reported security incidents.

 

The ideal candidate will have prior experience of working in or supervising a similar international control room or SOC. It is essential that they have an ability to maintain good relationships, a good team ethic and are keen to exceed expectations. They will be expected to have an ability to operate with limited supervision and have familiarity with many of the technical principles associated with a modern SOC. A curious and inquisitive outlook is essential, and they must have an innate desire for continuous self-development.

Schedule: Friday-Monday: 11:00pm-9:00am

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Oversee a team of RSOC operators and ensure the professional and consistent delivery of the RSOC’s suite of services on their assigned shift.
  • General oversight and regular, shift-level quality control of RSOC shift’s alarm response and escalation.
  • Promote a culture of aggressive incident reporting from the RSOC operator team, of incidents identified through Access Control System monitoring and other intake methods.
  • Monitor ACS/VMS and other RSOC applications system health, report any issues and generate technical incident reports for remediation.
  • Ensure strict adherence to sensitive office space clearance/access procedures (Datacenters, IT, Legal, HR spaces, etc.)
  • Ensure facility access badges are created and distributed in accordance with standards.
  • Review shift-level Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and conduct shift training where needed.
  • Maintain a professional work environment free of distractions.
  • Ensure adherence to all RSOC SOPs & post orders.
  • Thorough documentation of shift activity in the RSOC Daily Activity Report (DAR) and verbal pass-down communication between shifts.
  • Maintain good communication with regional Physical Security leads for collaboration on various site-level security issues.
  • Ability to perform all subordinate tasks as needed.

Competencies and Skills:

 

  • Associate degree and 2+ years’ equivalent work experience in Military, Law Enforcement, Government, Corporate Security Operations Center.
  • Supervisory experience, preferably in a security role.
  • Proficiency with Genetec (Security Desk or Mission Control), SiPort, CCure, Resolver, Service Now, Trackforce or similar integrated systems is highly desirable; demonstration of use of other systems is required.
  • Experience in basic data analytics with the ability to interpret key metrics and trends.
  • Skilled in problem solving, prioritization, incident assessment and report writing. 
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
