ACT 235 Certified Armed Security Officer SRO   

Location: Harrisburg, PA   

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM  

Pay Rate: $24.00 per hour   

Position Overview

We are seeking a professional, dependable, and observant Armed Security Officer (School Resource Officer) to join our team in Harrisburg, PA. This full-time position offers a consistent weekday schedule and the opportunity to serve in a highly visible role dedicated to maintaining a safe and secure school environment.   

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong situational awareness, sound judgment, and a commitment to safety, professionalism, and community engagement.   

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct interior and exterior patrols by foot or vehicle
• Monitor premises and report suspicious or unusual activity
• Respond promptly to incidents in accordance with company policy and use-of-force guidelines
• Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain Daily Activity Reports (DARs)
• Enforce site policies, post orders, and client regulations
• Provide professional customer service at entrances, front desks, loading areas, and other designated posts
• Remain knowledgeable of site-specific emergency procedures and response protocols

Minimum Qualifications

• Current ACT 235 certification (required)
• School Resource Officer (SRO) certification (preferred) **
• Valid License to Carry Firearms
• Personal firearm, Level II (or higher) retention holster, and duty belt
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Reliable transportation to and from the assigned site
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening

Preferred Experience & Skills

• 1–3 years of experience in armed security, law enforcement, military, or related field
• Strong written communication skills for report writing
• Professional demeanor with the ability to interact effectively with students, staff, and visitors
• Sound decision-making skills in high-pressure situations
