Position: Security Supervisor
Location: Downtown Pittsburgh, PA
Schedule: Full-Time | Overnight
Pay: $22.25 per hour
Requirements:
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- 1–3+ years of security experience required (supervisory experience preferred)
- Military background preferred
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Must be able to obtain or possess all required state licensing/certifications
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Primary Purpose & Function
The Security Supervisor is responsible for performing all duties of a Security Officer while overseeing field personnel and supporting branch operations. This role acts as a liaison between Operations, field staff, and internal departments to ensure efficient daily operations, high service standards, and compliance with company policies.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and support field personnel to ensure service excellence
- Conduct site inspections and document findings electronically
- Ensure compliance with company policies, post orders, and safety protocols
- Investigate incidents and complete detailed reports
- Assist with scheduling, payroll support, billing coordination, and staffing needs
- Respond to call-offs and no-shows in accordance with company policy
- Stand post when necessary due to staffing shortages (not to exceed 50% of weekly hours)
- Train, mentor, and coach security officers; assist with corrective action as directed
- Participate in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training new hires
- Conduct performance evaluations and recommend personnel placement
- Communicate regularly with operations management regarding site status and service delivery
- Maintain a professional environment compliant with all laws and regulations
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma required (some college preferred)
- Minimum 1+ years of security experience required
- Supervisory experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
Required Certifications / Licensing
- Valid driver’s license
- Clean motor vehicle record
- Current or ability to obtain required Guard Card/License/Certification
- Successful completion of criminal and motor vehicle background checks
Working Conditions
- Must be present in the field or branch office during assigned shifts
- Open availability required, including overtime and short-notice schedule changes
- May require local travel
- Must maintain composure in high-pressure or emergency situations
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, and use hands frequently throughout shift
- Ability to respond to emergencies on an on-call basis
- Ability to safeguard confidential information
