Position Overview

Security Engineers, Inc. (SEI) is seeking a motivated and outgoing Territory Reconnaissance Specialist to support market intelligence and field operations in the Dallas/ Ft. Worth metropolitan area and across SEI’s national footprint. This field-driven role is critical to SEI’s growth strategy, providing real-time assessments of security operations at prospective client sites to identify new business opportunities, operational gaps, and competitive insights.

The ideal candidate is confident, disciplined, and thrives working independently while engaging directly with people and environments to gather actionable intelligence.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license and clean MVR
  • 1–3 years’ experience in security, patrol, safety inspections, or similar fieldwork
  • Strong observational and situational awareness skills
  • Basic understanding of physical security principles (access control, lighting, perimeter security)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or higher
  • Experience in private security, loss prevention, or safety compliance
  • OSHA basics, risk assessment, or workplace safety training
  • Familiarity with emergency response procedures
  • Knowledge of local laws related to private security and property access
  • Route planning or territory-based fieldwork experience
  • Background in incident reporting, data gathering, or investigative work

Key Responsibilities

Field Evaluation

  • Conduct daily onsite reconnaissance of potential client locations within assigned territories.
  • Observe and document visible security presence, access control measures, and overall operational activity.
  • Ability to identify hazards, vulnerabilities, and site-specific risks

Market Intelligence & Data Collection

Gather information including:

  • In-house vs. contract security model
  • Incumbent security provider
  • Scope and scale of the security operation
  • Observable strengths, gaps, and vulnerabilities

Reporting & Documentation

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) for reporting and documentation
  • Maintain organized records supporting sales development and strategic planning.
  • Deliver clear, timely reports to leadership and internal stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with mobile reporting tools, cameras, and mapping apps

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive hourly pay: $18.00–$22.00, based on experience
  • All travel-related expenses paid by SEI
