Schedule:
Monday - Friday: Shift hours 2:00pm - 6:15pm
Saturday - Sunday - OFF
Must be willing to work tenant events as needed.
The ideal candidate will maintain a strong and consistent security presence while effectively coordinating security operations at an adult care facility serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
About the Role:
We are currently hiring a professional and reliable Security Officer for a prestigious high-rise property in Houston. The officer will be responsible for ensuring the safety of tenants, visitors, and property by maintaining a visible and consistent security presence. This role involves limited foot patrols and requires strong attentiveness, stamina, and a professional demeanor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintaining a visible and reassuring security presence throughout the facility
- Monitoring entrances, exits, and common areas to ensure resident safety
- Controlling access to the facility and verifying visitor credentials
- Observing and reporting unusual, unsafe, or suspicious activity
- Responding promptly and calmly to emergencies, alarms, or incidents
- Assisting staff during behavioral or medical situations as directed
- Ensuring compliance with facility policies, safety procedures, and regulations
- Completing accurate incident reports and daily activity logs
- Protecting residents, staff, visitors, and property with professionalism and compassion
- Coordinating with facility staff, supervisors, and emergency responders when needed
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Ability to maintain a calm, professional, and compassionate demeanor at all times
- Experience working in healthcare, residential, or adult care environments preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to interact respectfully with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Knowledge of basic safety, emergency response, and de-escalation techniques
- Ability to observe, assess, and report incidents accurately and promptly
- Must meet all state licensing and certification requirements for Security Officers
- Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and fingerprinting as required
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform limited patrols as required
