Unarmed / Flex Security Officer (Part-Time, 3rd Shift)

Location: Naperville, IL
Schedule: Part-Time 3rd Shift (Overnights) – Guaranteed 24 hours per week + Optional Flex Hours
Availability: Must be available to work any day, any shift, as needed for coverage

Pay Rate:

• 3rd Shift Rate: $18.50 per hour
• Flex Rate: $20.00 per hour

Position Summary:

A professional and adaptable Unarmed / Flex Security Officer is needed to fill a hybrid role that combines a guaranteed 3rd-shift schedule with the opportunity to work additional flexible shifts as needed. This position is ideal for individuals who are dependable, attentive to detail, and committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment for clients, employees, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine patrols of assigned areas to ensure safety and compliance with site policies
• Monitor CCTV, access control, and alarm systems for irregular activity
• Respond promptly and appropriately to incidents, disturbances, or emergencies
• Observe, detect, and report security breaches, hazards, and maintenance issues
• Enforce site rules, regulations, and procedures courteously and consistently
• Prepare clear and accurate daily activity logs and incident reports
• Provide professional customer service to clients, visitors, and staff
• Assist during fire alarms, medical emergencies, and evacuations
• Fill in at various sites or shifts as a Flex Officer, sometimes on short notice
• Maintain a neat, professional appearance and demonstrate integrity at all times

Requirements:

• Valid Illinois PERC Guard Card (active and in good standing)
• Current Illinois 20-Hour Unarmed Security Training Certificate
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening
• Must successfully clear a background check
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to stand, walk, or patrol for extended periods
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Must be available for weekends, holidays, and flexible scheduling

Strongly Preferred Qualifications:

• Background in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, or Military Service
• Experience as a Security Operator, Dispatcher, or Control Room Officer
• Familiarity with complex fire panel systems
• Experience in commercial, industrial, or healthcare security
• Proficiency in incident reporting software and access control systems
