This position requires the employee to stand or walk while on duty, there will be no sitting allowed as it is situated within a retail store environment.

As a Security Officer, your primary responsibility will involve actively monitoring and patrolling assigned areas within the store to deter and prevent theft. You will be attentive to all activities, observing customer behavior and staff interactions to identify any suspicious actions. Maintaining clear and ongoing communication with the manager on duty is crucial, as this will facilitate immediate reporting of any unusual occurrences or potential security threats.

Providing exemplary customer service is integral to this position, helping to create a positive shopping environment while remaining vigilant about security. Your ability to balance these duties will contribute significantly to the overall safety and integrity of the retail operations.

Responsibilities:

• Always maintain a professional, courteous, and respectful manner.
• Greet customers as they enter and thank them as they leave.
• Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with inquiries or concerns.
• Monitor and patrol assigned areas to deter theft 
• Communicate constantly with the manager on duty regarding any suspicious activity; Implement loss prevention strategies and procedures to minimize risk 
• Monitor and respond to alarms to detect potential theft 
• Be aware of all emergency exits located within the store in case an evacuation is necessary.

Qualifications:

• Must agree to and be able to clear a background check
• Must possess previous retail security experience
• Must have strong knowledge of loss prevention procedures and protocols 
• Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report writing and conflict management 
• Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally 
• Attention to detail and strong observation skills 
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

Location:

Multiple Retail Clients within Center City, PA

Schedule:

• Varied, between 10:00am to 9:00pm
• WEEKENDS MAY BE REQUIRED. MUST WORK SATURDAY, SUNDAY OR BOTH.
