Position Summary

In accordance with the rules and regulations of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the Supervisor oversees security officers performing safeguard services under CBP Form I-259. These services require escorting cruise line crewmembers who, upon resignation, termination, or suspension, forfeit their C1/D visa and must remain under continuous escort until their departure to a foreign country.

The Supervisor ensures all officers comply with DHS/CBP regulations, company policies, and operational procedures while maintaining professionalism and safety.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Supervisor is responsible for monitoring, supporting, and directing security officers assigned to safeguard services. Duties include but are not limited to:

Operational Oversight

  • Ensure security officers remain within ten (10) feet of their assigned crewmember at all times.
  • Verify officers escort the crewmember everywhere, without exception, and never leave them unattended.
  • Maintain compliance with DHS/CBP regulations and CBP Form I-259 requirements.
  • Provide guidance, direction, and corrective action when officers fail to follow proper procedures.
  • Coordinate assignments, shift coverage, and operational continuity across all posts.

Leadership & Communication

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between officers, management, cruise lines, and CBP personnel.
  • Conduct briefings, debriefings, and ensure officers understand daily responsibilities.
  • Maintain professional communication and encourage courtesy when officers interact with crewmembers.
  • Address and resolve operational issues in real time.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Review and ensure accurate completion of incident reports, timesheets, logs, and required documentation.
  • Submit reports to management in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure all officers adhere to company and regulatory reporting standards.


Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior security, law enforcement, or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • U.S. citizen or legal resident alien.
  • Active Florida Security Officer License (Class D required; Class G preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of security operations, safety practices, and DHS/CBP escort requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively—verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to understand, implement, and enforce standard operating procedures.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to make sound, independent decisions within policy.
  • Professional demeanor, appearance, and conduct at all times.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Reliable transportation is required.


Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Work performed in both indoor and outdoor environments, sometimes in extreme temperatures (heat or cold).
  • Frequent walking, standing, observing, speaking, and listening.
  • Ability to walk for extended periods and stand for long durations.
  • Must be able to respond quickly and remain attentive at all times.
