Armed Security Supervisor needed in Indianapolis, IN
- FT/1st Shift - $23/hr - Weekly Pay
Armed Security Officers must be aware that their primary purpose is to maintain order, protect clients, staff, and visitors from harassment, injury, or theft and take appropriate action for each building and/or location.
Requirements
- Must possess a high school or equivalent diploma or a G.E.D. certificate
- Must be pass drug test and be drug free and remain so for the entire life of employment
- Must pass background check
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. and provide proof
- Must take and pass a Physical Agility Test (PAT) before beginning work (annual requirement).
- Must complete all required training prior to assuming duties as an employee with the submitted compliance package
- Must meet all requirements of AR 190-56 that apply to Contract Security Officers
- Must meet all requirements of the Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968 (must be able to possess firearms)
- Understand and carry out oral and written instructions
- Instruct others on necessary rules, duties, and functions
- Recognize dangerous conditions about building and grounds and report/respond IAW applicable SOPs
- Meet and deal courteously, diligently, and effectively with the public.
- Have knowledge of safety precautions and of fire prevention methods.
- Prepare clear, concise, complete written reports
- Possess a valid IN Driver’s License
- Walk, stand, run, and climb over prolonged periods of time so that guard personnel can perform the tasks detailed in the specifications
- Perform and utilize personal defense tactics
- Remain alert, even tempered, and exercise good judgment
- Read and understand regulations, detailed written orders, and training materials provided by the client
- Operate telephone and radio communications equipment
- Determine the identity and business of visitors, tenants, and Post personnel
- Maintain integrity and confidentiality
- Keep a critical eye to safeguard persons and property
- Speak English clearly and distinctly
- Give directions and instructions telephonically to the general public, members of the armed forces, visitors, and other tenants
- Summon telephonically emergency fire/ambulance/medical assistance when necessary
- Use client property (keys, radios, etc.) entrusted to his/her responsibility
- See with normal color vision (cannot be color blind)
- Complete all necessary forms provided by client
- Be competent in the handling and use of firearms
- Must be able to solve problems and de-escalate situations in a non-confrontational manner
- Must possess the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division at a minimum
Responsibilities
- Be familiar with site specific procedures at respective locations
- Report and log all events, incidents, found articles, and hazardous conditions in writing as an official record
- Be alert to any emergency and take appropriate action, i.e. call Fire Dept, Police Dept, and/or render first aid until professional help is obtained
- Report potentially hazardous conditions and items in need of repair, including lighting, plumbing, wet floors, etc.
- Exercise judgement in allowing personnel access to the facilities
- Acknowledge, respond, and take appropriate actions to all alarms
- Provide roving patrol, if required at site location
