$23.08 Hourly + $4.93 H&W

Must be experienced in basic computer functions including keyboard entry, word processing, and file management. Must have knowledge and experience in operating a video surveillance system and knowledge of a physical access control system with intrusion and panic alarm monitoring software.

Duties:

- Monitors CCTV, intrusion, and fire alarms, including duress, access control, and emergency notification procedures.

- Monitor security surveillance cameras and detects criminal activity in progress, and suspicious behavior patterns, observe suspects, and known offenders, take supporting action and continuously monitor that person until they are intercepted and detained.

-Performs telephone and radio call intake and processing for Emergency and non-emergency telephone numbers.

-Assists with the management of radio frequencies: Police, Fire, facilities, and emergency.

- Makes telephone calls under the direction of the VA Police.

- Ensures emergency response and coordinates with local emergency services, County, State, and federal law enforcement officials during emergency situations.

- Makes emergency and non-emergency announcements.

- May be asked to complete a daily journal in the form of a word document.

- Utilizes call-back rosters when needed.

- Conducts themselves in a courteous and professional manner when interacting with coworkers, civil/federal law enforcement, VA employees, VA patients, visitors, and guests.

- Operates a wide variety of communication systems and related security equipment.

-Must be able to provide immediate and courteous directional and/or assistance to patients, visitors, and employees.

 - Will monitor disruptive behavior event notifications and ensure officers are aware of the notification.

- Will monitor emergency medical/fire/safety notification systems and send appropriate staff to the location.

- Due to the sensitive nature of the information the Dispatcher will be exposed to; training on Confidentiality will be completed by the Contractor as part of their new hire training.

Successful candidates possess: Two (2) years of Intermediate (solid understanding of the basics and some experience using advanced features) computer standard office programs (word processing, data entry and data base) experience.  The ability to Interact with 1st Responder and Hospital staff and the general public; Read, understand and apply printed rules, detailed orders, instructions, and training materials; Maintain poise and self-control under stress; Construct and write clear, concise, accurate and detailed reports. Ability to quickly learn basic radio operations and transmission procedures. As well as:

No felony convictions and no convictions that reflect on the individual's reliability.

English literacy to the extent of reading and understanding printed regulations, detailed written orders, training instructions and material, and shall be able to compose reports which convey complete information.

Familiarization with: - Use of Force/Rules of Engagement - Emergency response - Intruder confrontation - Conflict resolution - Interpersonal communication - Physical security - Customer Service - Protective equipment and Procedures to include Blood Borne Pathogens.
