Job Summary:

The Vice President of Loss Prevention and Safety is a knowledgeable and experienced expert in ensuring the safety of all employees and external persons. This person also has a strong background in protecting the assets of the organization with the ability to mitigate losses to the organization through theft, destruction, and misuse of company property.

Duties/Responsibilities:

·         Creates, implements, and audits Safety and Loss Prevention programs.
·         Improves knowledge and understanding of Safety and Loss Prevention policy and procedures.
·         Designs and administers reward and recognition program for employees that encourages employee adaptation of Safety and Loss Prevention behaviors.
·         Ensures regular audits of accounts are completed to ensure compliance.
·         Identifies and reports risks in the organization to executive leadership.
·         Reviews Worker’s Compensation claims and workplace injuries.
·         Partners with stakeholders to ensure reasonable accommodations are implemented when necessary.
·         Assures all OSHA environmental laws and regulations are followed, including reporting, recordkeeping, and notification requirements.
·         Develops and enforces driving, equipment, and property guidelines to protect company equipment and employees.
·         Innovates ideas that enhance Safety and Loss Prevention program.
·         Verifies MSD information is up to date and easily accessible to employees and customers.
·         Partners with stakeholders for RFP and Sales Proposals to highlight AHI’s Safety and Loss Prevention programs to create trust with potential customers. 
·         Coaches and leads subordinates and field leadership to improve education and behaviors.
·         Travels to all customer accounts regularly.
·         Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities: 

·         Ability to fluently speak English required. Ability to fluently speak Spanish preferred.
·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
·         Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
·         Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
·         Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
·         Strong problem-solving skills.
·         Ability to prioritize tasks.
·         Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
·         Thorough knowledge of relevant federal, state, and local Safety and Loss Prevention laws and regulations.
·         Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
·         Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s software platforms.

Education and Experience:

·         Bachelor's Degree. Master’s Degree preferred. A combination of experience and education may be considered.
·         5+ years in Safety/Loss Prevention leadership role.
·         Certifications: MSP, CSD, ASP, CSP, LPC, LPQ, CFE, CFI. Any combination of these certifications will be reviewed and considered.

Physical Requirements: 

·         Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
·         Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times.  
·         Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
·         Standing, squatting, walking, for up to 8 hours regularly, 12 hours on occasion.
