What does a Coordinator of Performance Development and Enhancement do? 

You will play a pivotal role in shaping and advancing our organization’s Quality and Training program. Your focus will be creating effective internal communications, refining training plans, and ensuring continuous improvement. You will work closely with the Manager of Performance to produce supplementary communication and training materials (authorized by CATSA) to address systemic performance issues and/or produce incremental improvement, as well as support new changing policies or procedures of CATSA.

  • Develop clear and concise internal communications for staff in specific roles or checkpoints and use these communications as awareness-rising exercises to keep our team informed.
  • Create detailed training plans for groups of staff when trends or gaps are identified.
  • Engage with frontline staff to gather valuable feedback and leverage this feedback to enhance existing programs or develop new ones.
  • Collaborate closely with the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CASTA) and suggest operational adjustments and improvements for approval by CATSA.
  • Oversee the delivery of training to existing staff based on CATSA-approved changes.
  • Track relevant data to measure the effectiveness of our programs to ensure completion of program briefings. Present findings and recommendations to internal team members and stakeholders.
  • Develop quarterly training Performance Improvement Action Plans that align with CATSA’s and the Quality Assurance team’s strategies with a focus on continuous enhancement on our screening services and policies.

 

What you bring to PASS: 

  • You are a Canadian Citizen or Permanent resident of Canada.
  • You are able to obtain a Transport Security Clearance and Federal Secret Security Clearance.
  • No unpardoned criminal record.
  • You have fluency in English, verbal and written (French is considered an asset).
  • Must have 2 or more years of equivalent work experience in relevant field (such as Aviation, Aviation Security, Adult Education).
  • Must have 1 or more years experience working as a Screening Officer. Ideal candidate would have experience as a Screening Contractor Training Representative (SCTR) and experience or functional knowledge of CATSA’S enhanced endorsements such as HBS, NPSV.
  • Strong knowledge of CATSA Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and associated screening equipment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on policy writing.
  • Experience in developing and implementing corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word and SharePoint).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of aviation industry regulations and requirements.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under pressure.
  • Adaptability for change and willing to think creatively to address evolving challenges.
  • Strong understanding of Adult Learning principles.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), such as Docebo or Articulate 365 considered an asset.
  • Ability to travel as required.
