 Assistant Site Supervisor

Shift: Open Availability

Payrate: $19.00

Primary Purpose and Function

The Assistant Site Supervisor is a job title used to describe similar yet varying job descriptions based upon, but not limited to: Experience Required, Pay Grade, Contractual Agreement, and Scope-of-Work, to name just a few.

The Assistant Site Supervisor serves as SMSSI’s 2nd jobsite “key point of contact” for Client and all Site-Assigned Security Professionals. The Assistant Site Supervisor is charged with assisting the Site Supervisor in ensuring contract compliance, staff supervision, and the day-to-day delivery of superior customer service. The Assistant Site Supervisor works closely with the Site Supervisor and SMSSI Branch office to ensure maximum efficiency at all levels.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Account Management

· Serve as SMSSI’s on-site “key point of contact” for Client and Site-Assigned Security Professionals.

· Ensure contract compliance, staff supervision, and day-to-day delivery of superior customer service.

· Work closely with vendor/distributor representatives to develop strong, collaborative working relationships.

· Provide in-service support to new and tenured customers, vendors, distributors, and contractors to ensure they understand applicable: Safety and Security Programs, Policies and Procedures, and/or Amenities and Services to further promote success for Client and SMSSI.

· Assist SMSSI Branch Management in execution of client contract; provide support during client start-up; support security planning, security assessments, security surveys, and day-to-day program management.

· Meet regularly with client representatives for status updates and full-circle communication to address actual or potential problems, issues, or concerns.

· Evaluate service quality and initiate applicable and approved corrective action plan within a timely manner.

· Ensure that each staff member is treated with dignity and respect; plan, assign, and direct work; coach and mentor employees, and conduct employee disciplinary actions as deemed appropriate.

· Maintain a positive, professional environment in full compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures; and ensure that subordinate staff understand and comply with applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

· Assist with the preparation and coordinating of staffing schedules in collaboration with line management as necessary; ensure that scheduling is handled effectively to meet client requirements while controlling labor costs.

· Review security officer reports to verify post orders and client directives have been satisfactorily followed.

· Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reports and requisite status updates as per Company policy.

 

Administrative/Training Management

· Ensure the Post Order Manual, New-Hire Training, and On-Going Training and Development Programs are current and effective.

· Manage and maintain assigned equipment and supplies.

· Review daily activity reports/ incident reports and conduct applicable investigations and follow-up as required or requested.

· Coordinate and/or assist with law enforcement, fire department, and other city services as required or requested.

· Administer and maintain employee time and attendance programs via remote computer application.

· Ensure new-hire employee and termination/transfer data is recorded and reported.

· Ensure financial goals are managed in compliance with and within budget.

· Field calls and electronic messages from clients and employees and resolves and/or forwards to proper staff for expedient resolution.

· Assist with general administrative functions (Human Resources, Administration, and Operations) as needed or as directed by Client or SMSSI Branch Office.

· Attend Client, Branch, Regional, and/or Corporate meetings, classes, and training seminars as appropriate and necessary.

· Ability to develop training modules and creating learning opportunities to fit the needs of the trainees to include, youth and adults.

· Proven experience working with culturally diverse groups.

· Proficient in technical writing, the development of procedures and training materials.

· Required proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, utilization of internet search tools, and Intranet, and other office equipment such as incident reporting software, fax, copiers and scanners.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Must be able to successfully manage multiple tasks, projects, and responsibilities with attention to detail.

· Must be able to certify in specialized areas to deliver training across the various functions in the department – safety, security, emergency management and crisis response, contract and proprietary security, and school crossing guard programs.

· Ability to coach, facilitate and motivate others.

· Ability to work under minimum supervision.

· Ability to apply critical thinking skills in rendering solutions to various issues associated with training and must demonstrate the ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively.

· Requires regular contact to discuss issues of moderate importance;      occasionlly requires contact with officicals at higher levels.

 

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

· Associate degree preferred.

· One (1) year of responsible experience in the security industry and/or business management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company.

· Additional relevant experience can be substituted for the required education on the basis of one calendar year of experience for one academic year of education.

· Computer Literacy (proficiency as applicable to the job).

· Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

Required Certifications / Licenses

· Valid driver’s license.

· Current or capable of acquiring applicable automobile insurance.

· Current or capable of acquiring a Guard Card/Certification/License/Permit as may be required by jurisdictional law.

· Successful completion of a Criminal, Credit, and Motor Vehicle background check.

· Successful completion of other applicable Client, SMSSI, or jurisdictional requirements.
