CURRENT OPENING:

1st Mid shift

  • Mon -Fri : 6:30AM - 2PM

   OR

  • Tues-Fri: 6:30AM - 2PM &  Sat 9AM - 4PM
  • Part-Time (0-29 hours / week)
  • Flexibility and availability to work other sites could allow an ACA Full-Time (30-39 hours / week) status

 

LOCATION: Downtown Grand Rapids, MI

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: As an unarmed Security Officer for this health clinic setting for DK Security, you will be working with one other Security Officer on post for your shift. Your duties will vary and may include the following responsibilities:

  • Access Control - Ensuring visitors and clients are following proper protocol for entrance into the facility along with securing the facility at the end of the shift.
  • Customer Service - Assist clientel coming in/out of the facility along with a friendly dememanor in all aspects of the job duties.
  • Patrolling - Officers on site will patrol both the interior and exterior of the building.
  • De-escalation Skills - De-escalation skills will be a priority to diffuse situations that arise.
  • Report Writing -Incident reports and acitivity logs will be utilized.

 

SUCCESS as a Security Officer at DK Security will look like:

  • Reliability - Report for your shift on time, presentable, and in the prescribed uniform.
  • Friendly Personality- Being able to balance our expectations of outstanding customer service while maintaining client policies and enforcing rules.
  • Following Company and Client Policies - Be able to read and interpret written post guidelines, follow procedures as outlined and ensure all tasks are completed throughout the shift.
  • Use of De-escalation Techniques - Being able to defuse situations through verbal judo and other communication tactics.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • Must have either a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • May NOT have any felony convictions and must be able to pass a criminal background check in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Must be vaccinated or willing to become vaccinated for COVID 19.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a drug test at the time of hire and randomly thereafter.
  • Must present a friendly, positive, and professional image.
  • Must be willing to become CPR/1st Aide/AED Certified
  • Must have a valid Driver's License with a good driving record.
    • Less than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years
    • Less than 2 at-fault accidents in the last 3 years
    • No other major violations in the last 3 years.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Must be able to sit, stand or walk for the duration of the shift, including walking long distances, and possibly up and down stairs
    • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
    • Must be readily able to respond to emergency situations

WHAT TO EXPECT (Next steps may vary depending on the position you are applying for)

  2. Virtual or On-site Interview - Interview with the Recruiter or Site Supervisor.  Get the opportunity to see the site location and understand what the role entails.
  3. Job Offer - Talk to our Recruiter about the specifics of the job offer, as well as next steps in the On-Boarding process.
  4. Background Check & Online On-Boarding Activities
  5. In-Office Orientation 
    1. Basic Officer Training - Video and Hands-on training regarding skills and techniques important for all Security Officers.
    2. Meet with our HR Team - Complete your onboarding process, in-house drug testing, issuing of uniforms, and photo ID badge, meet with your Operations Manager.
  6. On the Job Training (OJT) - Depending on the site location, you will complete anywhere from 2-40+ hours of On-The-Job training, learning the client-specific policies and procedures of the location you're assigned to.
