Security Officers are responsible for the protection of life and property, detection and prevention of crime, apprehension of criminals, and enforcement of laws and ordinances. Additionally, good documentation skills are required for this position as it is important to document activities and incidents which are witnessed, or the Security Officer is involved in.

We are seeking 5-7 officers for various day shift assignments beginning December 1, 2023. All assignments will be between the hours of 0730 - 1800. Many of the assignments are Monday - Friday, weekends and holidays off. 

We are seeking the best of the best. All candidates must be able to make good judgement decisions and present well to the public. All candidates must have reliable transportation and a reliable communication device. All candidates must be able to meet specific requirements, pass a drug test (including THC), and possess a clean DMV record (if selected for an assignment where driving is required).

We have four levels of Security Guards: Entry-Level Security Guard, Security Guard (I,II,III), Armed Security Guard, and Patrol Security Guard. Each level is described below.

Entry Level - Academy Sponsorship Program:

Armed Guard Private Security, Inc is actively seeking to sponsor candidates who are interested in becoming an Entry-Level Security Guard. Prior to being hired, every candidate must attend and successfully pass a 40-hour outsourced BSIS certified training which includes completing an electronic fingerprint live scan and the submission of an electronic California Guard Card application to the Bureau of Security Investigative Service.

The Initial Guard Card Package will include the candidate's 40-hour guard card academy fee, live scan, and state registration will be paid in full by Armed Guard Private Security, Inc. and each candidate will be assisted with every step throughout the entire process. The process usually takes a little more than a week to complete.

The Weapons Training Package will include the candidate's 40-hour guard card training, Initial Baton Course, Initial Firearms Course, Initial Chemical Agents/OC (Pepper spray) Course, and Initial Taser/Electronic Control Device Course will be paid in full by Armed Guard Private Security, Inc. The candidate would be responsible for all state licensing, permit, and live scan fees. 

Upon successful completion of the academy and becoming state licensed, the recruit will be considered an Entry-Level Security Officer. 

Wage Scale: $16.54 - $17.59, must pass Chemical Agent course within 3 months of hire. Other increases immediately upon registration of the following weapons: Firearm, Baton, and Taser. 

Security Guard

All candidates who have a current BSIS Security Guard Card and all of the required training certificates will be offered a $500.00 hiring bonus or the opportunity to participate in the Weapons Training Package.

Wage Scale: $16.54 - $18.11, must pass Chemical Agent course within 3 months of hire. Other increases immediately upon registration of the following weapons: Firearm, Baton, and Taser. 

Armed Security Guard

All candidates must have a current BSIS Security Guard Card and a current BSIS Exposed Firearm Permit, with all required training certificates. All candidates must be willing to obtain at least two less than lethal weapons certifications and acquire said weapons within 60 days of hire. All candidates will receive a $750.00 hiring bonus. 

Wage Scale: $17.54 - $19.16.

Patrol Security Guard

All candidates must have a current BSIS Security Guard Card, BSIS Baton Permit, BSIS Chemical Agent Certification, and a current BSIS Exposed Firearm Permit, with all required training certificates. All candidates will receive a $1,000.00 hiring bonus. 

Wage Scale: $18.15 - $19.65

Wage scale is dependent upon training and licensure/certifications:

American Red Cross CPR/First Aid Certification

Required:

Candidates must be at least 18 years old

Must have H.S. Diploma/GED

Must be legally authroized to work in the United States

Must have valid Driver's License or state issued I.D.

Must have reliable transportation

Must pass a drug test, including TCH

Must pass a DOJ/FBI Fingerprint Live Scan. 

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to sit, stand, and/or walk for majority of assigned shifts.

Must be able to physically control hostile subjects, including restraining in handcuffs, if/when required.

Must be able to lift objects up to 25 lbs. in a safe manner on occasion.

Must be able to safely retain any weapons on person against potential assailants who may try to take them from the guard.
