As a Full-Time Security Officer for Nuclear Science facility in Newport News, VA, you will serve and safeguard our client, staff, visitors, and buildings. As an Access Control Officer supporting this facility you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, manage visitor access through verifying identity, documenting visitors, escorting visitors to authorized areas on the facility, provide them a visitors badge and retrieving the badge when they are leaving, and maintain a professional presence and attitude that helps deter security-related incidents. You will deliver exceptional customer service, communicate clearly, and support site operations through teamwork and integrity.

Must meet following requirements:

Military, LEO, Corrections or 5+ years security experience, Current DCJS Certification, Current driver's License.

Job Schedule:

4 FT positions available (days and shifts may vary Monday - Sunday)

Day shift

7:30am - 3:30pm

Mid-Shift

3:30pm - 11:30pm

Night Shift

11:30pm - 7:30am

Duties include:

• Monitor facility and property of assigned client
• Be professional at all times maintaining company expectations for customer service
• Adhere to the rules of Top Guard and any parameters defined by the assigned client
• Situational decision making; notifications to appropriate personnel if needed
• Write reports either on provided electronic device or on paper
• Make appropriate notifications to client’s assigned contact and Top Guard’s management

• Must be able to sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time, up to a full 8-hour shift
• Must be able to endure cold and hot weather for extended periods of time, up to a full 8-hour shift
• Occasionally lift or pull up to 50lbs
• Speak audibly, clearly and understandable in order to have information understood or to contact authorities.
