Premium Investigations provides new and seasoned unarmed security officers the opportunity to learn and grow in an essential industry. Our security officers keep safe and secure our clients' sites, employees, and visitors.
We develop, through extensive training, confident security officers capable of handling some of the most complex site security plans and post orders. Our training academy is what sets Premium Investigations apart. Located in our corporate headquarters, we offer the NYS required training course as well BLS, De-Escalation/Defensive Tactics, Site Specific/Cross Training, and Advanced Security Officer BIP. A client’s greatest asset is a highly trained security officer that is both competent and confident.
The Shift Lead is the primary operational leader for the assigned shift and is responsible for the safe, secure, professional, and efficient performance of the operation from assumption of responsibility through proper pass-down. The Shift Lead supervises assigned officers, directs daily deployment, maintains staffing and field coverage, oversees required screening and documentation, addresses employee performance, and represents the company professionally with Airport Operations and other stakeholders.
The Shift Lead retains overall ownership of the shift even when tasks are delegated. The Junior Shift Lead is a flex officer and leadership support resource while the Shift Lead is present; delegated responsibility does not create a competing supervisory structure or transfer overall shift ownership.
Own the shift. Lead from the operation. Develop the people.

· Direct deployment, post coverage, break rotations, patrols, curbside operations, AWS assignments, and AWS Bomb Screening requirements.
· Maintain active operational awareness and make timely decisions that protect safety, security, client service, staffing continuity, and company interests.
· Manage active-shift call-outs and staffing gaps using established coverage procedures and communicate unresolved issues appropriately.
· Complete and verify required shift documentation, time-and-attendance records, equipment accountability, and pass-down information.

· Develop the Junior Shift Lead and other employees through coaching, cross-training, delegation, and appropriate developmental opportunities.
· Lead safety, security, operational, and emergency response until appropriately relieved or superseded.
· Use safety first, then security, operational control, communication, continuity, and documentation as the general decision sequence.
· Solve problems at the lowest appropriate level, stay within authority, communicate early, and escalate matters that exceed that authority.
· Use approved Post Orders, SOPs, policies, client requirements, and Site Management direction as the foundation for decisions.
· Document significant decisions and follow-up.
· Demonstrated leadership, reliability, accountability, and professional judgment.
· Strong working knowledge of Post Orders, SOPs, site processes, and operational requirements.
· Effective written and verbal communication and the ability to remain professional under pressure.
· Ability to supervise, coach, delegate, document corrective action, and hold others accountable.
· Ability to make timely decisions and work independently within policy and authority.
· Strong organization, documentation, problem-solving, and follow-through skills.
· Ability to work collaboratively with Site Management, peer leaders, the Junior Shift Lead, officers, and Airport Operations.
The Shift Lead has the operational authority necessary to direct the assigned shift and take reasonable immediate action within established company policy, Post Orders, SOPs, client requirements, and Site Management direction. Authority is accompanied by accountability: the Shift Lead owns the condition of the shift, the decisions made within that authority, the quality of required documentation, and the completeness of the pass-down.
