United Protective Services is seeking a dependable and professional Security Officer for a commercial office building. This position involves a combination of interior and exterior security duties, and officers must be comfortable working independently while maintaining a professional presence around tenants, visitors, and property management.

Schedule

40 Hours Per Week

• Saturday & Sunday: 2200-0600
• Monday – Tuesday: OFF
• Wednesday - Friday: 2200-0600

Responsibilities

Depending on the needs of the property, duties may include:

• Conducting regular interior building patrols, including common areas, hallways, stairwells, and other designated locations.
• Conducting parking garage patrols and monitoring for suspicious activity, safety hazards, unauthorized persons, and property concerns.
• Performing exterior/property patrols to maintain a visible security presence throughout the property.
• Performing periodic lobby duties, including monitoring building activity, observing persons entering and exiting the property, and assisting tenants or visitors as appropriate.
• Identifying and reporting suspicious persons, vehicles, activities, safety hazards, maintenance concerns, and other unusual conditions.
• Completing accurate and detailed activity reports and incident reports as required.
• Responding appropriately to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and other situations occurring on the property.
• Maintaining continuous awareness of the property and remaining actively engaged throughout the shift.
• Communicating professionally with tenants, visitors, property management, supervisors, and other security personnel.
• Following all site-specific post orders, company policies, and management instructions.

Position Requirements

Applicants must be able to:

• Work the entire posted schedule consistently and reliably.
• Remain on their feet and conduct walking patrols throughout the shift.
• Work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
• Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
• Use a smartphone or similar device to complete electronic security reports.
• Work independently with minimal supervision while remaining attentive and productive.
• Respond calmly and professionally to unexpected situations.

This position is best suited for someone who is dependable, observant, professional, and comfortable performing a variety of security duties rather than remaining at a stationary post for the entire shift.
