Role Overview
Security Engineers is seeking dedicated Unarmed Security Officers to help maintain safe and secure client environments while supporting CTPAT-related security procedures where applicable. Officers deter incidents through visibility, vigilance, professional engagement, access control, patrols, incident response, and accurate reporting.
Minimum Qualifications
· Must have or obtain a valid Security Officer/Guard License as required by the state licensing authority.
· Must be at least 18 years old.
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Must meet site-specific background, licensing, training, and compliance requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities
· Patrol assigned areas, monitor access points and surveillance systems, and report safety or security concerns.
· Verify IDs, credentials, visitors, vendors, transportation partners, seals, trailers, and shipping documentation as required.
· Respond to alarms, emergencies, and incidents according to Post Orders and site protocols.
· Maintain accurate activity logs, incident reports, inspection records, and other required documentation.
· Enforce SEI, client, and applicable CTPAT-related policies, including access control, visitor procedures, restricted areas, cargo security, smoking, loitering, and parking.
· Support cargo, trailer, container, vehicle, and facility security inspections, including seal-control and chain-of-custody procedures.
Required Skills & Abilities
· Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environments and remain calm during critical situations.
· Strong situational awareness, observation, problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
· Basic computer skills and ability to use tablets or electronic reporting systems.
· Weekend availability required.
· Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, access control systems, CCTV monitoring, CTPAT security criteria, or supply chain security practices, preferred.
Physical Requirements With or Without Reasonable Accommodation
· Stand or sit for at least 1 hour without a break.
· Walk a minimum of ½ mile without stopping.
· Stand, walk, patrol, and work indoors or outdoors as required by the site.
· Respond quickly to emergencies and security incidents.
Education & Experience
Minimum:
· High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred:
· 1+ year of verifiable security, law enforcement, or military experience.
· 2+ years of verifiable customer service experience.
· Logistics, warehouse, manufacturing, transportation, import/export, or supply chain experience.
