American Security is a security guard agency that was established in 1986. We have over 400 employees, which makes us big enough to take on large customers, but small enough to offer personalized services to smaller clients. American establishes security programs for their clients that are designed to protect their personnel and assets. We integrate our trained officers and technology, which allows us to effectively execute our security programs.

American Security is currently recruiting for Full Time Special Response Officers (SROs) to work throughout the Chicagoland area.

This is a great opportunity for experienced security professionals looking to expand their security experience, work at a variety of client locations, and take on a more active role within security operations.

SROs earn $20.00 per hour base pay, plus a $3.00 per hour weekly SRO bonus when all position requirements are met. Additional travel pay of up to $3.00 per hour may also be available depending on the distance traveled to an assigned location.

Requirements

• Speak, read, and write the English language fluently.

• Understand written procedures and respond accordingly.

• Own a reliable vehicle that meets Illinois law outlining vehicle insurance requirements.

• Possess a valid driver's license.

• Be available for on call and standby assignments throughout the Chicagoland area.

• Be prepared for deployment to various client sites with little or no advance notice.

• Possess a working cell phone and be able to respond to company calls within 15 minutes while on standby.

• Be able to report to an assigned location within 1 hour of receiving an assignment.

• Maintain a complete set of clean and pressed uniforms in your vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Be scheduled for standby coverage 6 days per week, with one designated weekday off.

• Be available for assigned standby periods, which may include daytime, evening, overnight, and extended standby periods.

• Be available for assignments on holidays when required.

• Promptly respond to dispatch requests for service and deploy to locations throughout the Chicagoland area.

• Travel to various American Security client locations as needed.

• Effectively utilize technology to assist clients in securing their facilities, including tablets, access control systems, visitor management systems, and CCTV systems.

• Ensure vendors and visitors are properly signed in and out.

• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of property.

• Monitor security cameras that are within the facility.

• Respond to incidents, including property emergencies.

• Conduct general patrols during various hours, including numerous flights of stairs and frequent patrols of the exterior in all weather conditions.

• Clearly and accurately record data such as property damage, unusual occurrences, and malfunctioning equipment.

• Maintain clear and accurate logs.

• Provide excellent customer service while on duty.

• Maintain a professional appearance and comply with all company uniform and grooming requirements.

• Follow all company policies, procedures, post orders, and client requirements.
