General Qualifications (for all Armed Security Officers - ASOs)
· Must be a U.S. citizen.
· Minimum of 21 years old.
· No felony convictions.
· No illegal narcotics or prescription drug misuse in the last 2 years.
· Must speak, read, and write English fluently.
· Ability to write clear, concise, and accurate reports.
· Ability to interact professionally with the public.
· Minimum of 4 years directly related professional experience.
· Must be eligible for and maintain TS/SCI with polygraph clearance.
· Valid and current licenses, permits, and certifications to carry a firearm in Maryland.
· Firearms qualification must be for the specific make/model issued.
· 16 hours Basic Firearms Training.
· 8 hours Annual Firearms Recertification.
· CPR / First Aid / AED Certification:
· - Initial: 4-hour CPR and 4-hour First Aid.
· - Recertification: CPR annually; First Aid every 3 years.
· - AED training is mandatory.
· Use of Force & Defensive Tools Training:
· - 4-hour OC (Oleoresin Capsicum) Spray Training.
· - 8-hour ASP Baton Training.
· - 8-hour Handcuff/Search Training.
· Must meet Maryland certification standards.
· Physically capable of: standing 4+ hours, working in adverse conditions, running, lifting, climbing stairs.
· Able to respond to emergencies effectively.
· Binocular vision; one eye correctable to 20/30, other to 20/40.
· Normal color vision and depth perception.
· Hearing correctable to normal range (hearing aids allowed).
· Annual drug screening required and must pass.
· Pre-assignment and annual training in CPR/First Aid and AED.
· OC Spray and OPSEC Awareness Training.
· Post-specific training and orientation provided by the government.
· Management training for PM and lead personnel (contractor-provided).
· Certification of training completion must be submitted to the COR.
