Securemedy Incorporated is currently hiring experienced Full-Time Unarmed Special Police Officers (SPOs) to join our team in Washington, DC.

Full-time officers are scheduled for approximately 32 hours per week, with overtime opportunities available based on staffing needs and operational requirements.

The ideal candidate will possess strong customer service and communication skills, demonstrate professionalism and sound judgment, and be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

This position requires officers to stand and walk for extended periods, maintain a visible security presence, and support multiple posts throughout the campus as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors.
• Monitor entrances and exits and enforce access control procedures.
• Conduct visitor screening and verify identification.
• Perform routine patrols of the school campus and surrounding areas.
• Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies, and disturbances.
• De-escalate conflicts and enforce school safety policies.
• Collaborate with school administration and emergency personnel when necessary.
• Prepare accurate and timely incident reports.
• Provide a professional and visible security presence.
• Assist with student arrival, dismissal, special events, and general school operations.
• Provide coverage across multiple posts and support operational staffing needs as assigned.

Requirements

• Must possess Active Washington, DC Special Police Officer (SPO) License (required).
• High School Diploma or GED (required).
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Prior security, military, or law enforcement experience preferred.
• School security experience is a plus.
• Strong understanding of security procedures and public safety practices.
• Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to interact professionally with students, staff, visitors, and the public.
• Must pass a drug screening and physical examination.
• Must be ability to stand, walk, and remain alert for extended periods.
• Must be ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Must be available to work full-time, Wednesday through Sunday (day, evening, and overnight shifts available).

Required Certifications

• CPR/First Aid/AED Certification (required).
• OC Spray Certification (required).
• Baton Certification (required).
• Handcuff Certification (required).
