Shopping Center Security Officer 

 Location: Northwest Houston, TX Pay Rate: Starting at $15.00/hour Schedule: Must be available to work evenings and weekends

Position Overview

We are hiring dependable and professional Security Officers for a large shopping center in Northwest Houston. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy staying active, working outdoors, and maintaining a visible security presence.

Officers will conduct both golf cart patrols and foot patrols throughout the property to help maintain a safe environment for tenants, shoppers, and visitors. This position requires strong awareness, professionalism, and the ability to handle issues proactively.

Important: A valid driver’s license is required due to insurance requirements for operating company golf carts.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular golf cart and foot patrols throughout the shopping center
• Monitor parking lots, common areas, storefronts, and surrounding property
• Perform lighting checks and report outages or safety concerns
• Conduct vacancy checks on empty tenant spaces
• Address and report trespassing, loitering, and homeless-related concerns professionally and respectfully
• Observe and report suspicious activity, property damage, or maintenance concerns
• Complete Daily Activity Reports (DARs) and Incident Reports accurately
• Respond to security concerns and emergencies in a calm and professional manner
• Maintain strong communication with supervisors, property management, and fellow officers
• Provide excellent customer service when interacting with tenants and shoppers

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid Texas Security License (or ability to obtain)
• Valid driver’s license required (insurance requirement for golf cart operation)
• Ability to walk and patrol for extended periods of time
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Reliable transportation and strong attendance record

Preferred Experience

• Previous security experience preferred but not required
• Experience working retail, shopping centers, apartments, or patrol-based assignments is a plus
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
