The Benefits Administrator is responsible for administering and supporting employee benefits programs, with a strong focus on benefits operations, leave of absence administration, and high-volume case management.

This position works behind the scenes to support employee benefits through coordination with third-party vendors, internal partners, and system updates, while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely resolution of escalated issues. 

The ideal candidate has hands-on benefits administration experience, is comfortable working in an inbox- and ticket-driven environment, and brings strong attention to detail and follow-through. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Support employee benefits inquiries and issue resolution through case management, system updates, and coordination with internal partners  
  • Partner with the company’s third-party benefits administrator and primary employee-facing point of contact, to resolve escalated or complex benefits issues  
  • Monitor and manage the benefits inbox and Service tickets in a high-volume environment, ensuring timely and accurate follow-up  
  • Serve as the primary internal point of contact for the company’s leave of absence policy, working closely with third party to support employee leave events  
  • Coordinate leave of absence activity, ensuring accurate tracking and timely updates in benefits, payroll, and HR systems  
  • Respond to employee and manager inquiries related to leave status, benefits impacts, and required documentation  
  • Report employee lifecycle events including new hires, terminations, retirements, rehires, and leave periods; update benefits administration and retirement systems accordingly  
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to benefit enrollments and payroll deductions  
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with plan guidelines and internal controls  
  • Provide support for medical, dental, vision, and optional benefits enrollment changes, eligibility questions, and dependent verification inquiries  
  • Assist with benefits components of new hire orientations as needed 

 

Requirements: 

  • 2–4 years of experience in benefits administration.  
  • Experience working in a high-volume, inbox- or ticket-driven environment preferred  
  • Hands-on experience supporting leave of absence administration and working with third-party leave vendors strongly preferred  
  • Working knowledge of employee benefits programs, including health and welfare plans and retirement plans  
  • Proficiency in HRIS and benefits administration systems  
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
