REQUIREMENTS:    

We are seeking a highly professional and experienced Armed Security Officer to join our team in Ashburn, VA. Candidates must possess valid Virginia DCJS Armed Security Officer credentials. A valid driver’s license and at least 5 years of armed security experience are also required.  

REQUIRED GEAR INCLUDES:  

• Duty belt
• Firearm
• Body armor

Preference will be given to applicants with military backgrounds, prior law enforcement experience, or work in high-risk security environments. Professionalism, reliability, and strong communication skills are essential.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to pass a drug screening
• Reliable and functional transportation (public transportation is not acceptable)
• Ownership of a cell phone for contact by Operations Supervisors
• Ability to pass a criminal background check with no felony arrests or convictions
• Must have an active DCJS Guard Card
• Must have an active Virginia Armed Handgun Permit
• Ability to perform duties as stated in post orders, which may include standing/walking for extended periods or lifting
• Familiarity with mobile technology (tablets, smartphones, etc.).
• Experience with the Evolv Early Weapons Detection System
• Customer Service experience

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain a daily log of all activities during your assigned shift at your assigned post
• Operate Safety Screening equipment
• Document all incidents occurring during your assigned shift in a detailed incident report
• Conduct walking or vehicular patrols throughout your shift
• Enforce customer rules in a professional and courteous manner
• Arrive on time and in proper uniform at your assigned post
• Ability to interact and communicate with the public
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Active listening skills
• Ability to assess and evaluate emergencies effectively
• Ability to quickly and accurately identify critical issues and respond appropriately
