Job Summary: Responsible for all day-to-day security operations across 10 different Health Care sites in Connecticut. This includes managing shift scheduling/staffing, overtime, inspection of personnel, responding to emergency incidents and keeping the Director and General Manager informed of all critical matters. This position will have 2 assistant account managers reporting directly to the Portfolio Manager. Must be a hands-on manager and able to multitask.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of security officers and shift supervisors and assign responsibilities and tasks to support healthcare security operations across 10 sites in Connecticut
- Work hand in hand with the Regional Director of Public Safety to ensure all needs/requirements are met
- Meet all contractual scheduled hours with a minimum of unbilled overtime
- Coordinate and/or conduct site-specific OJT, client-specific training, and annual refresher training for security personnel
- Work with supervisors to conduct inspections of personnel ensuring all are properly uniformed and equipped to perform their duties
- Provide guidance and coaching to shift supervisors
- Develop staff in both technical and professional skills through performance management (coaching, counseling, disciplining, sit-specific training, annual formal performance evaluations, recognition, etc.)
- Working in conjunction with the Portfolio Manager and HR, investigates and handles complaints, instances of policy violations or wrongdoing and provides thorough documentation and recommendations
- Work closely with General Manager to meet all department goals and expectations
- Establish effective working relationships with Managers in other departments to facilitate information sharing and proactive problem solving
- Work closely with General Manager, sharing all important information and collaborating on formation and implementation of policies and procedures to achieve maximum department effectiveness
- Responsible for developing and delivering emergency training and other training as applicable
- Foster and maintain effective relationships with healthcare partners throughout the network
- Conducts physical security assessments, threat assessments, and safety training
- Proficiently utilize WinTeam application for scheduling and billing, and to produce reports that require interpretation and action for effective business management
- Other management responsibilities as determined by leadership
Qualifications:
- Previous Contract Security, healthcare facilities management, military or law enforcement experience
- At least five (5) years of business management/operations/supervisory experience (depending on size/scope of client).
- Ability to develop and grow customer relationships
- Experience in hiring, developing, motivating and retaining quality staff
- Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills
- Ability to work in a team-oriented management environment with the ability to work independently
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, complex situations, a diverse team of employees and client requirements on an ongoing basis
- Ability to work in a team-oriented management environment while having an entrepreneurial attitude
- Demonstrated Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience drafting or revising policy or post order style documents
- Advanced understanding of Access Control/Closed Circuit Television and Visitor Management systems
- Ability to assimilate complex events and communicate to senior leadership in a concise and accurate fashion
- Previous payroll, billing and scheduling experience preferred
Work Experience:
- 5 years Public Safety related experience in healthcare preferred
- 3-5 years Supervisor/Manager experience
- Prior law enforcement and/or military experience preferred
