$24.50/hour

Role Overview 

The Security Control Room Specialist is responsible for monitoring and coordinating site security operations from a centralized control room. This role ensures the safety of personnel, property, and assets by overseeing surveillance systems, managing access control, responding to incidents, and communicating with on-site security personnel. The specialist acts as the central point of contact for all security-related activities and must always maintain situational awareness.  

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Minimum age: 21 
  • Must have valid driver's license from state of residence and clean MVR
  • Be able to obtain and maintain a Valid Armed ASRB Security Guard License (state requirement) 
  • Must pass Armed training and possess a valid pistol permit. 
  • Must pass a background investigation. 
  • Must complete a psychological assessment. 
  • Must pass an annual physical fitness assessment (Navy Standards). 
  • Must pass a medical exam to test vision and hearing (color distinction required).

Experience Required:  

  • 3+ years in Armed Security, Military, or Law Enforcement OR 
  • 4+ years in Unarmed Security 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Operate and monitor CCTV and electronic security systems 
  • Manage access control; verify IDs and credentials remotely 
  • Provide interactive monitoring and incident response to prevent intrusion, theft, and unauthorized activity 
  • Dispatch officers and coordinate emergency response per protocol 
  • Maintain meticulous logs of activities, incidents, and observations 
  • Serve as central communication point for security inquiries 
  • Enforce site-specific Post Orders and client security protocols  

Required Skills 

  • Strong attention to detail and punctuality 
  • Mature judgment; ability to identify critical issues quickly 
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills 
  • Computer literate: ability to complete reports, use client software, and generate badges 
  • Ability to perform in fast-paced, high-pressure environments 
  • Strong situational awareness and problem-solving skills 
  • Weekend availability 

Preferred: 

  • Flexible scheduling 
  • Verifiable experience as a Dispatcher 
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Experience with CCTV and access control systems 

Physical Requirements 

  • Ability to sit for extended periods. 
  • Ability to operate computer and communication equipment continuously during shift. 
  • May require occasional walking or standing depending on site layout. 

Education & Experience 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent 
  • Preferred:  
  • 1+ year in control room operations, security, law enforcement, or military 
  • 2+ years in customer service
