Security Operations Manager
Location: Pittsburgh, PA and surrounding
Schedule: Monday-Friday | Day Shift
Must be willing to work outside of standard working hours as need be. Evening and weekend hours may be required.
Salary: $55,000–$62,000 annually, commensurate with experience
Position Overview
The Security Operations Manager plays a critical leadership role in ensuring the effective delivery of security services across assigned accounts. This position partners closely with Branch Management, Human Resources, Administration, and Field Supervision to oversee hiring, training, deployment, and ongoing support of field personnel.
The Operations Manager is responsible for maintaining contract compliance, operational efficiency, workforce stability, and high service standards across all assigned accounts.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Oversight
- Ensure all assigned accounts operate in compliance with contract specifications, company policies, and Post Orders.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure adherence to Handbook policies and identify safety hazards or operational risks.
- Build, maintain, and update Post Order Manuals and site-specific procedures.
- Maintain regular communication with Project Managers, Site Managers, and Lead Personnel to support account performance and resolve issues proactively.
- Stand post when necessary due to staffing shortages (not to exceed 50% of the workweek).
Staffing & Workforce Management
- Ensure all client sites are staffed according to contractual requirements.
- Effectively manage schedules and control overtime through strategic staffing.
- Maintain a qualified pool of Security Officers, Rovers, and Flex personnel to support coverage needs.
- Participate in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring decisions.
- Provide supervision and oversight to Field Supervisors and Flex Officers.
- Maintain proactive communication with Security Professionals to ensure performance standards are met.
Payroll & Administrative Management
- Review and process weekly timesheets and maintain accurate computerized schedules.
- Run bi-weekly payroll in accordance with company procedures.
- Maintain accurate records to reduce payroll errors and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Process final paychecks, bonuses, and other compensation-related matters.
- Prepare and review operational reports, ensuring all deadlines are consistently met.
- Complete site checks and incident reporting through TrackTik.
Employee Relations & Compliance
- Conduct disciplinary and counseling sessions in a proactive and professional manner.
- Document all corrective actions according to company standards.
- Initiate and execute voluntary and involuntary termination procedures as necessary.
- Represent the company at unemployment hearings, workers’ compensation hearings, legal proceedings, union meetings (where applicable), and state agency matters.
- Investigate and complete reports related to incidents, accidents, and injuries.
- Communicate client feedback, contract changes, service adjustments, and operational concerns to the Branch Manager.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for a minimum of three (3) years
- Reliable personal transportation
- Strong experience as a Security Supervisor or Security Manager
- Proven leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities in a fast-paced environment
