Access Control Security Officer 

Location: Wilkes-Barre, PA 

Employment Type: Full-Time  

Schedule: Monday-Friday 1pm-9pm 

Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour 

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and dependable Unarmed Security Officer for immediate hire at a secure facility located in Wilkes-Barre, PA. This is a weekday, full-time position offering stable hours, consistent work, and a professional environment. 

The ideal candidate will bring a strong security background, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and orderly workplace. The officer will be responsible for controlling facility access, verifying credentials, and ensuring that all personnel follow established safety and security procedures. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Control and monitor access to the facility through designated entry points.
• Check and verify employee and visitor ID badges for proper access authorization.
• Greet and screen visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
• Conduct foot patrols to ensure the safety of property, personnel, and equipment.
• Observe and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, or policy violations.
• Complete detailed daily activity reports and incident documentation.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, site management, and other security personnel.
• Respond quickly and appropriately to security or safety incidents.
• Enforce site rules and maintain order while providing excellent customer service.
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.

Qualifications:

• Strong security background required (industrial, corporate, or facility security experience preferred).
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Reliable transportation.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to stand or walk for long periods and work in varying weather conditions.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Basic computer skills for reporting and communication purposes.
