Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct supervision and leadership to unarmed security officers assigned to their designated sector.
- Maintain a high-visibility presence within the assigned area, ensuring officer accountability, professional appearance, and proper conduct.
- Coordinate and enforce client policies, security post orders, visitor flow management, and emergency response plans.
- Conduct DAILY Quality Control inspections of at least 5 employees in your designated sector
- Conduct shift briefings, sector-level inspections, post checks, and operational audits to ensure contract compliance and public safety.
- Serve as the first line of leadership for resolving onsite incidents, disruptions, or visitor concerns within the sector.
- Ensure real-time reporting of incidents, hazards, or operational issues using the Guard Tour and Incident Reporting System.
- Collaborate with other Sector Commanders, the Assistant Account Manager, and Client Security to ensure seamless operations across all sectors.
- Coach and mentor officers to promote continuous improvement, performance excellence, and adherence to service standards.
- Assist with officer training, post orientation, SOP reviews, and readiness drills.
- Monitor sector-specific security technologies, alarms, and surveillance systems, and report discrepancies or malfunctions.
- Provide written daily activity summaries, incident narratives, and sector-specific performance assessments to management.
Mandatory Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; additional coursework or certification in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or related field preferred.
- Mandatory requirement of at least 1 full year of stellar performance in role as Security Officer on site (if currently assigned) OR
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in security services, with 1 year of verifiable experience in a supervisory role.
- Strong working knowledge of museum security practices, cultural property protection, and public engagement protocols (strongly preferred).
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in shift documentation, reporting systems, and use of handheld radio and mobile communication devices.
- Must be DC-licensed as a Security Officer and meet all specific training requirements (CPR/SFA).
- Ability to stand and patrol for extended periods, respond to emergencies, and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and flexible hours based on operational needs.
