ACT 235 Certified Armed Security Officer

Location: Reading, PA
Schedule: Monday-Friday First Shift
Pay: $20.00 per hour

Position Overview:

Seeking highly qualified Armed Security Officers to join our Philadelphia-base team. This position requires individuals who demonstrate strong judgment, situational awareness, and professionalism. The ideal candidate will be dependable, detail-oriented, and capable of maintaining safety and order while interacting respectfully with clients, employees, and the public.

As an Armed Security Officer, you will be responsible for safeguarding property, monitoring activity, and responding promptly and appropriately to incidents. This role is essential to maintaining a secure environment and providing peace of mind to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide a visible armed presence to deter criminal activity and ensure a safe environment
• Conduct foot or vehicle patrols of assigned areas, including interior and exterior inspections
• Monitor access points, verify identification when required, and ensure only authorized personnel enter restricted areas
• Respond swiftly to alarms, disturbances, and emergency situations, following established protocols
• Observe and report all unusual or suspicious activity using both written and verbal communication
• Prepare accurate, detailed daily activity logs and incident reports
• Interact with clients, employees, and visitors in a professional and courteous manner
• Work effectively with local law enforcement, emergency responders, and site management when necessary
• Maintain complete knowledge of post orders, emergency procedures, and site-specific policies
• Uphold all safety standards, firearm regulations, and legal guidelines related to armed security work

What You Need:

• Current ACT 235 certification (mandatory)
• Proven armed security experience, demonstrating sound tactical judgment
• Personal firearm, level 2+ retention holster, and duty belt
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1–3 years of experience in security, law enforcement, military, or customer service (preferred but not required)
• Strong written communication skills for clear and accurate report writing
• Reliable transportation to ensure consistent and punctual attendance
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and any additional screening requirements
• Strong situational awareness, conflict-resolution skills, and ability to remain calm under pressure
• Physical capability to stand, walk, or patrol for extended periods and respond quickly in emergencies
