Armed Security Officer

Location: Mt. Vernon, Illinois

Job Type: Full-Time | Part-Time
Pay Rate: $21+ per hour
Shifts: 12-hour shifts — 24/7 coverage, full-time and part-time openings available

We are seeking highly trained and dependable Armed Security Officers to provide safety and protection at a high-activity service campus. This environment requires strong situational awareness, professionalism, and disciplined security practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible, professional armed security presence
• Conduct patrols and monitor all assigned areas for safety and security concerns
• Control access and verify authorization for employees, visitors, and vehicles
• Respond to incidents, emergencies, and alarms according to established protocols
• Complete accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and documentation
• Communicate clearly with supervisors, team members, and on-site personnel

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois PERC card
• Active FOID card
• Active FCC (Firearm Control Card)
• 40-hour Armed Security Training Certification
• Must own a duty firearm and necessary firearm gear/equipment
• Previous armed security experience required
• Strong communication, observation, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods
• Professional appearance, reliability, and sound judgment

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior law enforcement or military experience (bonus consideration)
