Armed Security Officer – Jefferson, OH

Location: Jefferson, OH

Position Type: Full-Time | School Season | Summers OFF

Schedule: Monday–Friday 7:15 AM – 3:00 PM

Pay Rate: $19.00 per hour

Certification Required: Valid OH Armed OPOTA License

We’re looking for a reliable, professional, and observant Armed Security Officer to join our team in Jefferson, Ohio. This Monday–Friday position offers a steady daytime schedule, a supportive environment, and the opportunity to protect and serve in a highly visible role.

What You’ll Do

• Conduct patrols of assigned interior/exterior areas by foot or vehicle
• Maintain situational awareness and report suspicious activity
• Respond promptly to incidents following company policies and use-of-force guidelines
• Complete clear, detailed written reports and maintain daily activity logs (DARs)
• Enforce all site policies, post orders, and client rules
• Provide customer service support at front desks, loading docks, or other designated areas
• Stay up to date on all site-specific emergency procedures

What You Need

• Current OPOTA Armed Certification (required)
• Personal firearm, Level II+ retention holster, and duty belt
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1–3 years experience in security, law enforcement, military, or customer service (preferred)
• Strong written communication skills for report writing
• Reliable transportation to and from the site
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening

Bonus Qualifications

• Military experience or relevant criminal justice/public safety education
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (if required for the post)

Please note: This position is full-time and during the school year only with summers off.
