Unarmed Security Officer
Location: Aberdeen, SD
Job Type: Part-Time
Schedule: Approximately 8–16 hours per week, typically 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Days vary; shifts may vary)
Pay Rate: $17.50 per hour
Overview:
We are seeking a dependable and flexible Unarmed Security Officer to support daily operations at an agricultural and processing-related facility. This part-time position requires someone who can assist with scheduled shifts as well as provide fill-in coverage when needed.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine patrols of grounds, gates, and facility perimeters
- Monitor employee/visitor access and ensure only authorized individuals enter designated areas
- Observe and report any unusual, unsafe, or suspicious activity
- Maintain accurate daily activity logs and incident reports
- Respond to alarms or disturbances in a calm and professional manner
- Support emergency procedures such as evacuations, medical needs, or safety alerts
- Uphold all company security protocols and maintain a visible, professional presence
- Communicate effectively with management and staff regarding security or safety matters
Requirements:
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible days (shifts may vary)
- Strong situational awareness and observation skills
- Ability to remain alert and attentive during long periods of standing or walking
- Professional communication and conflict-resolution abilities
- Previous security experience preferred but not required
- Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions
- Must pass any required background checks
