Off-Duty or Recently Retired Law Enforcement Officer needed
Location: Chicagoland Area - must be flexible

Status: Off-Duty Law Enforcement or Retired Law Enforcement (Retired = 5 Years)


Site Officers

Pay: $35/hr

We are seeking highly qualified Site Officers to provide safety, security, and protection for crews and equipment at active construction sites. This role is ideal for off-duty law enforcement professionals or retired law enforcement officers within five (5) years of retirement.

Position Overview

The Site Officer is responsible for maintaining a secure environment at assigned locations. This includes safeguarding personnel and property, monitoring activity, responding to incidents, and maintaining strong communication with both site crews and management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct foot patrols throughout the job site to protect property and ensure crew safety.
  • Observe and accurately report activities occurring on the job site.
  • Communicate any scheduling changes at the job location to the management team.
  • Identify and report suspicious activity and monitor equipment to support loss-prevention efforts.
  • Report criminal incidents or unusual occurrences promptly to the assigned inspector.
  • Respond appropriately to incidents and emergencies within assigned areas.
  • Immediately contact 911 in the event of any emergency.
  • Remain outside of their vehicle and stay near construction crews (but outside the active work zone).
  • Position themselves where they can maintain maximum visual coverage of the crew(s).
  • Coordinate with other Site Officers, ensuring coverage across different areas of the job site and maintaining line-of-sight with one another whenever possible.

Qualifications

  • Current Off-Duty Law Enforcement Officer or
  • Retired Law Enforcement Officer (retired within the past five years).
  • Strong situational awareness and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to remain alert, visible, and engaged throughout the shift.
  • Clear, professional communication skills.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to PPE requirements.


Travelers

Pay: $37.50/hr

We are seeking dependable and highly alert Travelers to support safety and protection efforts across multiple construction sites. This position is ideal for off-duty law enforcement officers or retired law enforcement professionals within five (5) years of retirement who are comfortable performing both mobile and foot patrols.

Position Overview

The Traveler is responsible for providing security coverage at various construction locations by patrolling the sites, monitoring for risks, and ensuring the safety of crews and equipment. This role requires mobility, strong situational awareness, and consistent communication with supervisors and construction teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Wear all required PPE and attire as defined by client.
  • Obtain the daily field coordinator/job site list from the supervisor to identify sites needing coverage.
  • Conduct frequent visits to assigned construction sites to mitigate potential risks.
  • Protect personnel and property by performing foot patrols on the job site.
  • Remain outside of the vehicle when on-site, staying near construction crews (but outside the active work zone).
  • Position themselves where maximum visual coverage of construction crews can be maintained.
  • Prepare and submit electronic Daily Activity Logs.
  • Prepare and submit electronic incident reports for each incident.
  • Assist with special requests, such as walking job sites prior to construction start.
  • Report any scheduling changes to the management team promptly.
